Pilates is an exercise method that is used today for both training and therapeutic purposes. It focuses on strengthening muscles with little joint stress and therefore it has been known as particularly helpful for those who suffer from back pain.
Pilates is a low impact workout which is why regardless of the activity level you are at it will allow you to perform the exercise at your own control. It is also a great supplement for anyone interested in developing core strength and stability.
Typical session focuses on form and biomechanical efficiency, stimulating the nervous system while developing greater body and posture awareness. Working to improve flexibility and alignment Pilates promotes a harmonious development of balance and suppleness. Breath is also emphasized as a key component to enhancing coordination and fluidity of movement.
